For example, you probably know that July 4, 1776 is the day the Declaration of Independence was signed... but did you know…

…that in December 1776, Congress requesting all States to declare a day of fasting in aid of the Revolution’s just cause.

You probably know (from the musical 1776!) that Ben Franklin and John Adams were instrumental in getting the Declaration of Independence signed….

But did you know that Adams and Franklin met with British Admiral Howe for a peace conference on September 11, 1776 ? The meeting, held at the southern most tip of Staten Island, failed and led to the continuation of the war for seven more years.
