In just two months, the Trump administration has dramatically reshaped U.S. immigration policy – issuing a wave of executive orders, ramping up enforcement, and signaling a more restrictive approach to legal immigration. This session will provide an analysis of key immigration agencies – DHS, USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and CBP – and the policy shifts impacting their operations. We’ll examine the current executive orders, recent legislation (i.e., Laken Riley Act), federal agency firings, and the expansion of ICE raids. Attendees will also gain insight into upcoming enforcement priorities, new registration requirements for undocumented immigrants, and the implications of Congress’ proposed $350 billion mass deportation budget. With immigration law changing at an unprecedented pace, this session will equip attorneys with the knowledge they need to navigate the evolving landscape and prepare for what’s ahead.

This program is approved for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys and upon
completion will receive (1.5) New York Areas of Professional Practice credit.
