Like the 1940s women pictured in the above image , superheroes and ordinary New Yorkers once had no shortages of booths that gave privacy to both conversation and caped crusader transformations.
But last month, an era came to an end when the city removed its last booth . It was ceremoniously carted off to the Museum of the City of New York, where it will part of their Analog: NYC B.C. (Before Computers) exhibit.
