And you may know that Veterans Day was original “Armistice Day” — commemorating the end of World War I (November 11, 1918) …

But did you know that November 11th officially became Veterans Day on June 1, 1954 (P.L. 280)?

You probably know that — unlike many Federal Holidays such as MLK Day – Veterans Day is never moved to a Monday ….

But did you know that after the 1968 Uniform Holiday Act (P.L. 90-363) moved Federal Holidays to Mondays , Veterans Groups lobbied to have their day moved back to November 11th.
