National Library Week began in 1958 and continues with honorary chairpersons such as Julie Andrews, John Grisham, and Judy Blume. The U.S. Post office commemorates library themes with metered postage stamps.

1985 NLW theme “A Nation of Readers”.  USPS issued this stamp in 1984.

From Wake up and Read” (1958) to 2020’s “Find Your Place at the Library“, Library Week themes have sought to inspire. In 2020 as the nation copes with Coronavirus , it’s time to remember one of its most beloved institutions… Libraries !
